Wednesday 18th March 2009

So, my first blog entry. Well, rather my first new blog entry as I used to have an old deadjournal account:

http://godsqueaks.deadjournal.com/

And before that I even had a diaryland account, but I think that's lost to the sands of time.

Anyways, I've been told keeping a blog is a great way to practice writing and store bits and bobs of info that might be useful while writing in the future.

I enjoy writing, I'd love to make a living from writing one day but at the moment I'm just trying to hone my skills.

What's going on at the moment?

Eva, my girlfriend, is currently away in Valencia for a few days so I'm feeling kinda lonely, but not really bored yet. It's kinda nice to do my own thing for a while, but I'm looking forward to her getting back on Sunday night.

I had a job interview last Monday, and it went terribly. I really want the job though so I've still got my fingers crossed. It really was a terrible interview, seems like spending two years telling school students how to prepare for an interview has not done me much good. The job is an Intensive Personal Advisor at Connexions, it would be really challenging and that's something I really need right now; one more day at work tweaking wikipedia articles or watching facebook might send me a bit crazy. I just need something that's going to push me a bit harder.

I offered to make dinner for Claire (my wife) tonight, as I had such little else to do, apart from start this blog. She declined, which was a shame as I was kinda up for it. She seems to be getting back to normal after last summer finally, or at least as close to normal as Claire can really get.

Finally, I'm sadly really looking forward to the new Formula 1 season. My mind still boggles at the fact that I'm even interested in the sport at all, but there you go. The F1 world is in uproar at the FIA's new regulations, and rightly so, but the politics of F1 is almost as entertaining and intriguing as the on-track action. Bernie Ecclestone does seriously need to retire though; 78 years old!!!

Oh, and finally finally, I'm probably going to get an X-box 360 on the weekend. I'm still not sure about it, I play enough computer games already in my opinion, but if I don't buy one now I'm probably never going to be able to.

So there's my first blog, brace yourself for more fascinating insights soon.
